EMAIL QUESTION:

You have registered for a six-month computer training program at Sambro Community College. You want to rent a room from the Sambro Housing agency.

Write an email to the agency in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

Ask about costs and the application process.

  • Explain when you need to rent the room.
  • Describe your requirements for the room
  • Ask about costs and the application process.

SOLUTION:

Hello Team

I have recently registered with your college in a 6-month computer training program. I want to rent a room during my study time. I am contacting you to let you know about my details.

My course classes will start from 5th June 2022, and I am planning to come and settle before that. So, it would be great and convenient if we start the rent from 1st June 2022. There are a few things you must keep in mind before you show me a room. I want a study table and a good study chair and it must be placed near the window. Also, I am a little scared of going out of my room at night, so please make sure my room has an attached toilet. I checked on your website that you provide double and single occupancy rooms. I want a single occupancy room only as I can’t share my room with anyone else.

Based on my requirements above, kindly tell me the cost of the room. I also want to know if there are any charges for the application. Please reply to the email, or you can call me at the number mentioned in my sign-off.

Thanks and Regards

SURVEY QUESTION

Your Company wants to allow some employees to work from home. Not everyone can have this choice because some jobs must be done at the office. The company wants to know if this is fair by surveying your opinion about working from home.

Choose the option that you prefer. Why do you prefer your choice? Explain the reasons for your choice. Write about 150-200 words.

Option A: A work-from-home choice is fair

Option B: A work-from-home choice is not fair

SOLUTION:

I would like to opine in favor of option A, the work-from-home choice is fair. Even though the other option B is also alluring but option A would easily outweigh the advantages.

To initiate my argument, there are many jobs that can be done from the comfort of the home. Just because other jobs are not designed to be worked from home, the other employees should not suffer. Staying at home will save their energy and money.

To continue with my logic, if some employees are staying at home, there will be less space required for the company, and they will be able to save a lot of money.

I would like to quote an example to elucidate my point further. Fewer employees will come to work, and there will be less electricity used. Also, other expenses such as toilet maintenance, arranging the desktop, and seating arrangements will be reduced.

Conversely, if all the employees are called to work just because it is unfair for the workers who cannot work from home, there will be more dissatisfaction among the employees, as the blame game will start in the company.

Considering the reasons outlined above, I firmly believe that option is more preferable than option. I appreciate the chance provided to me to voice my opinion.
