- Explain the problem with the order.
- Describe how you feel about the company’s mistake.
- Suggest how they can correct the situation
Dear Mr. Lee,
I am writing to you regarding a pair of glasses that I had recently ordered online from your company vide order No. is VAN-0147 dated 09/05/2024. The glasses you sent are of the wrong size.
When I placed the order, the frame looked like a perfect fit for my face. However, contrary to my expectation, the actual glasses sent are very different. They are too big for my face and hang loosely on my nose. Resultantly, my vision is not static and I get headaches.
On carefully checking my order details, I found that you have delivered the wrong size of glasses to me. This has caused me undue hardship and unnecessary trouble. I am very disappointed regarding the same.
You are requested to let me know the procedure to return the glasses back. You may exchange them for the size I had ordered. Conversely, you can refund the amount to me in case my size is unavailable. Afterall, is it unfair to expect right standard of service from an esteemed company as yours ?
I look forward to your response on the matter eagerly. In case you want to discuss it further, my contact no. is 987-654-3210.
Regards,
Ann Smith
SURVEY –
Your office manager is considering a new work schedule. She is thinking about closing the office at 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. In order to replace lost work hours, however, all employees would have to start work at 8:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday. Your manager is surveying all employees to see if they prefer the new work schedule or the old one.
Option A: I would prefer to continue working from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Option B: I would prefer to start work at 8:00 a.m. and finish early on Fridays.
Though choosing between the two options is like choosing between a rock and a hard place, I choose Option B since it seems more feasible.
My argument stems from the fact that it is practical to start work early. Most of the offices and businesses begin at 8.00 AM. So, starting early will make us competitive and augur well for us. Besides, Friday afternoon onwards nothing much is achieved as energy levels are already low.
Moreover, resultantly, everyone will be rewarded with an extended weekend. This will allow us to spend more time with our families and to relax. It will also give everyone an opportunity to plan weekend getaways, since we will have enough time on hand.
Conversely, to reach office early, it will require an extra effort in every household each morning. But with a little bit of careful planning and re-scheduling, it would not pose to be a problem with anyone. Wouldn’t a little extra effort during weekdays be worth so much extra time with ourselves, our kids and families and a 2.5 day weekend ?
Hence, in my opinion, Option B will definitely be more beneficial to the company as well as to each one of us.
